Week 4 | Destination: Success- Sept 8-11, 2026

✈️ WELCOME TO WEEK 4, WILDCAT FAMILIES!

We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! We’re excited to welcome our Wildcats back and ready for another great week. ❤️💙

This week, students will begin VALLSS testing in ELA classes. VALLSS helps us see how your child is doing as a reader and where they need extra help. The results help us make sure students receive the right support to continue growing.

This Friday, our Wildcats will get to explore the different clubs being offered at VJMS this year! Clubs will meet during the school day on the first Friday of each month and give students a chance to discover new hobbies, interests, and activities outside of their regular classes.

Students will visit different clubs during the fair before choosing the ones that interest them most.

Families, please continue talking with your child about making good choices at school, following expectations, and being ready to learn.

And when they’re doing well—celebrate them! A little praise goes a long way. We want our Wildcats to know that doing the right thing gets noticed, too! 👏🏾

Wildcat Families, we are asking ALL families to complete our Student Transportation Form to confirm your child’s preferred way of getting to and from school.

Whether your Wildcat is a bus rider, car rider, walker, or uses another form of transportation, please complete the form so we have the most current information for your family.

Does your 6th grade student participate in a VJMS sport or after-school program and need transportation to Main Campus?

Please complete this digital form to grant permission for your 6th-grade student to travel from 6th Grade Campus (Blandford) to the Vernon Johns Main Campus for school activities, sports, and programs via district activity bus.

By filling out this form, you will provide emergency contact information, review student behavioral expectations during transit, and submit your electronic parent/guardian consent.

All student phones and electronic devices must be secured in the student’s assigned Yondr pouch during the school day.

Students should arrive at school prepared to follow the Yondr process each day. This helps us protect instructional time and keep students focused on learning.
